A healthy thick and creamy detox smoothie that’s sweet & simple, perfect for anytime of day and packs in a few of them green veggies Yum!
Happy Monday ya’ll! So if you read this and this, you’ve probably figured out that I’m trying to cut back a little bit and hopefully shed a few of them pounds- or at least feel better about what I’m eating. So what better way to do that then with a refreshingly clean and delicious detox smoothie?
I’m mildly obsessed with smoothies. They’re super quick, easy, filling and tasty I wanted to pack in a few extra greens in this one but I didn’t wanna be able to taste ‘em. So naturally I picked spinach and avocado, 2 of the mildest tasting green veggies on the planet. You can add spinach or avo to nearly anything! I’ve added avo to muffins, cookies, breads, salads and of course smoothies!
This smoothie is incredibly creamy in texture, due to the healthy fats and oils from the avocado and it tastes sweet from the banana. I’ve already had it for breakfast, lunch and dinner and you can easily make it in bulk for your entire family if you don’t want to cook
Smoothies give the illusion of a drink and sometimes seem unsatisfying, as if you’d be hungry an hour later. Not with this one! This smoothie has incredible staying power as it’s packed with protein from the oats and healthy fat from the avocado! The last time I had it for dinner, it was so satisfying that I didn’t even want dessert.
You’re going to love this smoothie because it keeps you full, it’s packed with green veggies yet still sweet, and you can drink it guilt-free. Not to mention the marvelous blueberry flavor wonderfully camouflages any hint of the greens!
This smoothie rests at 400 calories so it’s definitely a meal smoothie and a good one at that. It’s far less calories than your typical dinner for sure and it makes a perfect breakfast. Plus, you’ll feel great about it because all of the fats from the avocado are only healthy fats Eat (or drink) your healthy fats!
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 cup organic spinach
- 1 small frozen banana
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1/4 small avocado
- 1 tbsp hemp hearts (or seeds)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- Splash of lemon juice
- Handful of ice, if desired
- 1. Blend all ingredients.
- 2. Enjoy!
